There are several different ways to look at the concept of power and force.

Neville Goddard, a self-help author who worked in the early and middle 1900’s examined co-creating your own life using the power of your intuition and imagination, the power of the Divine instead of with physical or mental forces.

David R. Hawkins, MD, PhD in his book, Power vs. Force, published in 1995, examined the energetic frequency levels of consciousness as they pertain to a variety of different human emotions.  He used kinesiological muscle testing to determine the energetic frequencies of lower vibrational (e.g., fear, guilt, shame, etc.) human emotions associated with force and higher vibrational (e.g., courage, joy, love, etc.) human emotions associated with power.

Let’s take a look at the concept of power and force from the level of your intuition, the level Neville Goddard talked about.

Power and force are governed by the Law of Polarity.

The spiritual Law of Polarity is a principle that states everything that exists has two poles and a duality that creates a contrast between the two poles.

In physics, the Law of Polarity states everything has a polar opposite and the 3rd Law of Motion states “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

One spiritual definition of “power” is “the capacity or ability to direct or influence your own behavior or the course of events in your own life with your intuition.”

One spiritual definition of “force” is “overcoming of resistance by the exertion of physical or mental strength to influence or the course of events in your own life.”

Your “power” comes from your first sense, your intuition, also referred to as your sixth sense.  Your intuition is your connection to the Divine (God, Creator, Spirit, etc.).

Intuition is defined as “an inner sensing, inner insight to unconscious recognition of energetic patterns and the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.”

Your Intuition emanates from the energy of a Higher Power and provides you with Divine guidance and Divine intelligence.

Your Intuition includes little droplets of Higher Power energy that drop down and in, from a higher dimension.

You can use your “power,” your intuition to program your subconscious mind to project the energy of your intentions outward to materialize things from the energetic realm into the physical realm as a direct reflection of the life you want to co-create, the life you truly desire.  Thus, you co-create the people, things and events you receive in your life based your own internal connection to the Divine.

Your “force” comes from the use of your other five senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.  You collect and process information from your five senses into your subconscious mind to project the energy outward to materialize things from the energetic realm into the physical realm as a direct reflection of that information from your five senses.  Thus, you co-create the people, things and events you recieve in your life based your connection to the external world and not your connection to the Divine.

Your five senses also pick up and process energy from the “collective energy” of the world.

The collective energy include such things family, religious, spiritual, cultural, political and other types of energy generated by a group.

In the real world, physicist Albert Einstein said, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. (If you) match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way.”

In the fictional world of the Star Wars movies, Obi Wan Kenobi frequently talks about the “Force” as the collective energy created by and binding all living things and to beware of the “dark side” of it.

The collective energy can be magnified by a large number of people on the earth all expressing a same or similar emotion (e.g., fear, anger, hostility, hate, division, war,  etc.) all at the same time this can be felt as energetic waves which are picked up with your five senses.

Thus, it is typically challenging or even overwhelming to navigate your life strictly using your “force” instead of your “power.”

Be aware we typically live our lives somewhere in the middle of the continuum between the poles of power and force.  Applying force is necessary, in small doses, before you can apply your power because of the duality of power and force and the contrasts it creates.  Force creates a momentum that allows you to express your power.

For example if your five senses pick up something in your environment you that makes your fearful, you may apply force in the form of mental or physical actions.  Such force creates a momentum that then allows you to use to intuition and apply your power such as expressing courage to overcome the situation in your environment that made your fearful.

How do you want to live your life?  With Power or Force?

  • If you live your life using your power a majority of the time, you live your life from an active, pro-active, empowered state. A state of connection, collaboration and co-creation with the Divine.  When you use your power, you take responsibility for your own actions.
  • If you live your life using your force a majority of the time, you live your life from a passive, re-active, dis-empowered state.  A state of dis-connection, competition and constraint based on the collective energy and cut off from the energy of the Divine.  When you use your force, you do not take responsibility for you own actions and typically feel you’re a “victim” of your circumstances.

Using your power in instead of your force can help you create a positive impact in your life and co-create a life you truly desire.

I am using my power instead of force in my life.  How about you?
