I recently ran a local race 5K race called “Scary in the Prairie.”
It is a race that is done before Halloween each year and the runners wear costumes during the race.
There was a middle aged women at the race in a Wonder Woman custom.
She was totally in character with the Wonder Woman persona.
What her energy exhibited in Wonder Woman custom and was strongly projecting, in fact screaming out, was, CONFIDENCE.
Everything about her projected, confidence. The way she walked, talked, interacted with other runners, warmed up and ran. Even casually leaning against a fence waiting for the race to start, she projected confidence.
I was sure she might win the race or be one of the top finishers in the race.
She was one of the top finishers in the race. I am sure she is very successful in her own life in everything she does.
What is confidence?
According to Psychology Today, Confidence “is a belief in oneself, the conviction that one has the ability to meet life’s challenges and to succeed—and the willingness to act accordingly. Being confident requires a realistic sense of one’s capabilities and feeling secure in that knowledge.”
“A big component of confidence is being empowered.”Stephen Lesavich, PhD
Being “empowered” is being in direct control of your own life, setting intentions, living from an active, pro-active state and making decisions based on positive emotions for what you want to achieve and then being responsible for the outcomes of your decisions.
How can you become more confident and empowered in your own life?
- Understand Your Emotions and Your Emotional Triggers. To be more confident, you need to understand your own emotions and emotional triggers. Observe your own emotions and emotional triggers with discernment instead of judgment. Discernment includes perceiving and observing a situation to obtain the truth and understanding of the situation. In contrast, judgment includes perceiving a situation by forming a personal opinion about the situation, based on the influence of the behavior of others, on yourself. To be more confident, your day-to-day emotions must include positive emotions such as being, courageous, happy, excited, joyful, hopeful and inspired. You recognize, understand and respond to emotional triggers that invoke an intense emotional responses in you with positive decisions and positive pro-active. actions.
- Shift Your Perspective. To be more confident, look at your life from a new higher vantage point, from that of an empowered observer. This new higher vantage point as an empowered observer gives you a new, higher perspective, a new point of view that is above the level at which you are currently experiencing your life. From this new higher vantage point, you are able to view and select from a new set of possibilities for your life that you never realized where there before. Being an empowered observer allows you to project the energy of your intentions outward from a new perspective to materialize things as a direct reflection of your own energy and of the life you want to create.
- Stay in the Present Moment. To be more confident, keep yourself in the present moment as an empowered observer. The past is gone and there is nothing you can do about it. The future has not yet occurred. The present moment is the exact point between the past and the future. It is the exact point of creation in your life wherein the magic happens. It is the point that keeps you connected energetically to your higher-self and your intuition. Staying the in the present moment as an empowered observer allows you to have a clear vision of who you really are, what you want and project the energy of that vision out for the world to feel and see by everyone in your own environment
I project confidence in everything I do.
How about you?
Being confident and empowered also allows you to make a positive impact in your own life and become an example to others.
